THE RAVEN CLUB AT VERRADO
Spectacular Views from a Fresh Course: Raven Verrado Golf Club
Par: 72
Yardage: 5,402-7,258
PGA Tour star Tom Lehman and former amateur standout John Fought teamed up to design the newest Raven Golf Club, and it turned out superbly in the new town of Verrado. Located in the West end of the Valley, tucked below the White Tank Mountains, the views of the Raven Verrado Golf Club are outstanding no matter which way you turn.
The Raven Verrado Golf Club opens subtly, with a series of straight-forward offerings before jumping up into the mountains for a rollicking right throughout the back nine. Along the way, golfers will take on such charming holes as the 310-yard 13th, a short par-4 that plays straight up the hill into a green surrounded by mountain slopes. The biggest challenge is left for last, as the 494-yard 18th is a long par 4 that, fortunately, plays down the mountain to a green backed by water.
As is always the case with the Raven brand, the service is outstanding and the golf shop and restaurant are reminiscent of the Valley's finest private clubs. The Raven also provides with the green fees, an all-inclusive package that includes food and drink before, during and after the round.
Steve Nicodemus' Tip: It's an unbelievable course, and very deserving of the Raven brand. If you haven't played at the Raven Verrado Golf Club, it's a must on your next trip to Scottsdale. It's a little bit of a drive - 30 mintues - but worth every mile. Of the two nines, the back will definitely stick out due to its mountain backdrop and the incredible view of downtown Phoenix. |
