LAS SENDAS GOLF CLUB
Beautiful, Yet Daring: Las Sendas Golf Course
Par: 72
Yardage: 5,100-6,874
Located in East Mesa at the base of the Usery Mountains, Las Sendas Golf Course is a layout best described as "Beauty and the Beast." Few golf courses in Arizona can equal its magnificent views of the Valley of the Sun. At the same time, few carry a slope nearly 145, which makes Las Sendas Golf Course one rollicking ride.
The front nine tests a player quickly, with three par-45 that go 448,438, and 430 yards, with a 564-yard par-5 sandwiched in between. And that's just the first four holes! Fortunately, there is a par-3 that plays to just 120 yards, although the severely sloping green makes par a good score.
Believe it or not, the back nine is more difficult, with a 467-yard par-4 and 591-yard par-5 tossed into the mix. But the views - on both nines - keep a player happy. It all comes crashing to an end at the 18th hole, where a player must carry water twice on his way to a green that commands signature status if just for the panoramic scene alone. So, buckle up, and enjoy Las Sendas Golf Course.
Todd Massie's Tip: Las Sendas almost has a tpc-feel to it, especially when it comes to demanding shots into the green. What I really like about it is, there's a small mountain right in the middle of the course, which makes for some very interesting holes you don't see at other courses. It just turned semi-private last year, but it's still open to the public. So enjoy Las Sendas Golf Course now! |
